Rind ("the App") is operated by Web Ink Studios L.L.C. ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Rind.

1 Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Authentication credentials via email/password or Google OAuth

User Content

We collect and store content you choose to create or save in the app, including:

  • Saved recipes
  • Recipe collections
  • Notes and annotations

Usage & Diagnostics Data

We collect limited technical data to improve app performance and reliability, including:

  • App usage data
  • Crash reports and error logs
  • Device and operating system information

Purchase Information

If you subscribe or make in-app purchases:

  • Payment processing is handled by Apple
  • We receive subscription status and entitlement information via RevenueCat
  • We do not receive or store your full payment details

2 How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and operate app features
  • Authenticate users and manage accounts
  • Save and sync your recipes and collections
  • Process subscriptions and entitlements
  • Analyze usage to improve the app
  • Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes or errors

3 AI Processing

Rind uses AI services to normalize and process recipe data you submit.

This processing may involve sending recipe content to third-party AI providers, including:

  • OpenAI
  • Google Gemini
  • Grok (via OpenRouter)

These services are used strictly to provide app functionality. Your data is not sold or used for advertising.

4 Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate the app:

  • Supabase – user authentication and data storage
  • RevenueCat – subscription and entitlement management
  • Sentry – crash reporting and diagnostics
  • AI providers via OpenRouter – recipe normalization
  • Network & scraping tools (e.g. Exa, RN Fetch) – recipe data retrieval

These providers act as service processors and only process data on our behalf.

5 Data Sharing

We do not:

  • Sell your personal data
  • Share data for advertising
  • Track you across apps or websites owned by other companies

Data is shared only with service providers necessary to operate the app.

6 Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide app functionality.

7 Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time using the one-click delete option inside the app.

Once deleted:

  • Your account data is permanently removed from our systems
  • Subscription access ends according to Apple's billing rules

8 Children's Privacy

Rind is not intended for children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9 International Users

Although Web Ink Studios L.L.C. is a U.S. company, users may access Rind from other countries. By using the app, you consent to the processing and storage of data in accordance with this policy.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new effective date.
